Mio, The media Darling of Anime, losing to a relative unknown? I call BS. I see Fake votes, or Lulz faction at work here. Fuuko wins group B. Thanks, guys…>_>

How the hell did mio lose what is this i dont even
Many many votes which are determined to be double votes or proxy votes are discarded. The Saimoe people do everything in their power to stop proxying. Thus, “rigging” cannot explain a 37 vote margin.
So why did Mio lose against Boss?
Well, K-On is in the middle of a backlash on 2ch — the situation there resembles the one on 4chan/a/. However, Minami-ke is still held in high regard. Its characters are not the “relative unknowns” you seem to categorise them as.
There was probably also some strategical voting, though. The K-On anti-fans on 2ch decided to take out the powerhouse Mio while the K-On fans were still confident of her invulnerability. 4chan/a/ also had a finger in the game, joining the anti-fans with a vote campaign of their own.
Mio’s defeat will serve as a warning to the K-On fans — not even their juggernaut of popularity is invulnerable. They will rally to support Yui, Mugi, Azusa and the rest.
Bottom line: Mio lost because she’s the same character we’ve seen many times before. Boss won because SHE IS BOSS.
Ok, “Bossman”.
Fuuko will take the boss down. Have fun with that. And if not her, Tsukasa or Nagi will. She seems to be on borrowed time.
Have I watched Minami-ke? no. So Relatively unknown fits.>_>
And Fake votes they seem to throw out in the end. So basically, it’s either that or what I said before, the Lulz faction(Which it seems you proved to be true)…..
Don’t say “so-and-so will win”. As this match proved, one can’t take a victory for granted.
As I said earlier, Minami-ke has a strong fanbase on 2ch. It is popular, even though you haven’t seen it. (What are you waiting for?)
I should also note that /a/ is seperate from what you like to call “the lulz faction”, especially as they generally despise the word “lulz”. Only /b/ and E.Dramatica still use it seriously.
….I have been using “Lulz faction” for years. (Third year celebrating Saimoe.) So I am not gonna stop using it now.
And: Until I am proven otherwise, I can say what I feel will happen.(If I remember, this is a jopchan scripted blog).
I watched one episode, and it proved my theory: There was no way in hell that Mio should have lost. Although I do like the random antics of Kana, She won’t be anywhere near my list of favorites.
Note: This does NOT mean that Minami-ke sucks. I actually do enjoy the show.
Fair enough, I guess.
Keep in mind though that using the word “lulz” on /a/ will net one a sage or three, perhaps accompanied with a sarcastic “LOL EPIX LULZ XDDDDD”. Thus, it might not be appropiate to use such a term to refer to /a/.
U should see today results as well.
jopchan you are absolutely right. Mio should not have lost, and on paper her loss is completely impossible. But that’s why we have the tournament. Otherwise, they shouldn’t even have bothered with the match and given Mio a bye. She lost, tough cookies. My bracket is in shambles and lots of people are butthurt on the internet. I’m not even that big of a Miofag, but it’s hard to see her go, since I believe she should have won. She was the most moe in her whole group.
Kana will not last long. If Isumi doesn’t sink her, I expect the B1 winner to.
