Sorry for the lack of posts recently, have been busy at work-_-.
Here is the news of recent Anime/Manga Licences:
From NYCC:
Yen Press scores an epic win, as they pick up both the Haruhi manga and Novel. The are also starting up an anthology of Squareenix branded manga. Soul Eater, Higurashi – When They Cry, Sumomomo Momomo, Bamboo Blade, and Nabari no Ō will be part of the beginning of the manga. NOW- If Yen press has Mahoraba in this(It IS a Squareenix title), it will make me so happy.
Not to feel outdone, Del Rey licensed the power of Despair! Yes, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei has been licensed. Could an anime license be far behind? Also, they have licensed Gakuen Prince and Samurai 7, two titles I really don’t care about, sorry.
The only news from viz is that they are putting on hold Full Moon, MAR, Hikaru no Go, and Prince of Tennis. Kinda like Kodocha, These series have poor sales, so instead of finishing them, they just stopped(They Should be getting Cash from the big guns-Naruto and Bleach, so what gives).
And from Bandai- They licensed a Gundam series, Gundam 00. That is all well and good, but I would like to see Turn A, Plz.
Also, Bandai nabs one of the two missing titles from ADV, with Gurren Lagaan going to them. With Code Geass and Gurren Lagaan going to Bandai, they have two potential hits in the US.
Wonder what is gonna happen to ADV….?
Finally, for the 40th aniversary for Shounen Jump, They will be making anime specials from One Piece and Dragonball. As for Dragonball, who knows if it will take place in original or Z timeframe. Hopefully, it will be a good addition, not like GT.
