Umisho 1

First Review in a while. I’m probably rusty, so here goes…

The main character, Kaname Okiura, is a manager of a HS swim team. However, he can’t swim. Due to a tramatic experience where he almost drowned due to a green haired girl(Perhaps a mermaid), he cannot go past knee deep in water. Then. all of a sudden, uber-hyper Maki appears with big news.

Of course, he got so distracted by Maki, that he forgot to finish timing Orizuka Momoko, which isn’t a good thing(SMACK). Orizuka then realizes the reason why Orikura was so distracted, as Maki then gives her the news: A houseboat has arrived in the ocean, in it are Ninagawa Amuro and her father.

Amuro makes an interesting first impression when she joins the group watching her arrive in nothing but a men’s button up shirt.After introducing herself, she remembers that she has a welcoming gift for the group…

A shark. This makes everyone speechless. As Amuro tries to give the the shark to Orizuka, She tells Amuro that she doesn’t want a dead carcass. Amuro just grins and says, “It’s alive!”. The shark then goes on the attack, tearing off Orizuka’s shirt.

After all of this, Amuro takes a good long look at Okiura, realizing she remembered him from somewhere, but forgot where.

Amuro then saw that Maki was in her swim club swimsuit, and told everyone she loved to swim. She then swam a very good distance before coming up. Orizuka noticed this and grinned diabolically, as she thought of something.

Amuro arrives at school the next day, and she is a big hit amongst the male population, even Okiura is slightly interested,however, before anything could happen, Orizuka challenges Amuro to a race. Even though Amuro used interesting techniques, she didn’t watch where she was going and hit her head on the wall, losing the match.

The very next morning(It seems), Orizuka and Okiura went to spy on Amuro, trying to find out what is her secret of Amuro swimming so good.

After seeing Amuro eat a wild fish, Orizuka’s cover is blown, and she joins Amuro in eating the same fish, finding out it was not bad. Then she saw Amuro take her shirt off and jump in the water. Thinking that swimming nude may have helped in making Amuro good at swimming, She then proceeded to start taking off her clothes to join Amuro.

As Orizuka and Amuro play in the water, Okiura decides to leave, however he was spotted by Amuro, who seemed happy to see him, as she wanted him to swim with her.

Amuro pulls Okiura in, thinking that he’d come back up. Instead, he sank. Again. This time however, before he blacks out, Amuro saves him.

After he was saved, Okiura wakes up in the chest of Orizuka, who promptly sends him flying a la Keitaro. Afterwords, Okiura and Orizuka warm up next to a fire that they made…

She then says that she met him before in Chiraumi, Okinawan for Ocean, which causes Orizuka questioning the Ninagawa family of the use of the houseboat. Finally, to end the Episode , Amuro dives in the ocean to swim.

Whew, My Thoughts…

This is a fan-service orientated series, plain and simple. Some people will enjoy it, others will find it repulsive. I find it on the enjoyable side. Why?

1. Amuro carries a shark. A live Shark. That is win in itself.

2. Amuro is the happy-go-lucky type. That is also win.

3. Orizuka in a towel. Man, am I a perv.

Needless to say, I will be watching this.
