ACEN Day 2: Funi/Viz/Aniplex

Considering we are starting to get into the main Con season, many companies have a hold on revealing their hands early, as ABoston is next week. But all three announced something(Even Aniplex, which was a no brainer due to the AX guest from said movie). Here are the announcements:

 

Funi picked up the Home Media rights to Attack of Titan, to come out in 2014. Considering the internets response to that show, I am not surprised.

Viz actually surprised me. They nabbed the K master license (Meaning: Everything) and the Accel World shorts. This pretty much means they have all the anime for Accel World.

As for Aniplex: They announced that they will be showing the Blue Exorcist Movie at AX. Since they have the series: No big surprise.

ACEN Panel 1: Sentai Filmworks

Today, Sentai had their panel. One license they picked up was the 2nd series from  Soubi Yamamoto, “This boy caught a Merman” or in its Japanese title: Kono Danshi, Ningyo Hiroimashita. They did bring out the first series from that director, so it isn’t surprising that they would bring it out. Looking at the artwork that has popped up in ANN’s article, It looks a bit like Yaoi, which in the anime world, does not get a lot of love here in the states(Manga is a different matter altogether). Can’t really say though if that is what it is or not.

 

In other news: BD collections of Nyan Koi, and Golgo 13 are coming in September. That is especially important for Nyan Koi, as this means it will get a dub. Nyan Koi was released Sub-only in it’s first release, meaning it must have sold pretty well to warrant the bump up to BD.

Upcoming Con: Anime Central

This weekend starts the road up to AX and Otakon. The first Con that happens is Anime Central in Chicago. Like always, I am not actually there, but will be posting about announcements that come out this weekend. It also happens that Anime Boston is Next weekend, so there is always next week as well.

Life, The Universe, and Anime: Year 6 Revival

One year. Thats the time I have been away from this blog. Nothing good comes from abandoning things you start, so I have returned to this blog to hopefully breathe some life into it. Starting with a slight revamp of the design of the blog, I hope to return to posting my views, mainly from the R1 side of things, like I did from the start of the blog. Maybe I have some reviews on here, but who knows? And I will have some editorials about certain subjects(one being thought of is something from a post way back in the day, so be prepared for that).

 

Thanks to all the people who actually come and read this blog. I hope year 6 brings better participation from me….

~5 year Anniversary~: Life the Universe and Anime

On May 10, 2007, I officially became a member of the Dasaku group of blogs. And while as of late, I haven’t posted as much as I would like (1 post in 5 months? Gonna have to rectify that…), I still am happy with my fandoms. Still gaming: Playing Neptune Mk 2 in English, And got through the True end in the first shot. Also playing through Madoka Magica Portable. And I am at the final boss of Homerun’s path. And let me say this: If Homura isn’t powerleveled with everyone at a similar level, a fate worse than death is shown. (T_____T)

Still loving Puella Magi Madoka Magica, even after a year of airing. With the BDs still being released in the US, and the movies coming out in the fall/winter, Still got plenty to look forward to…

New stuff for the blog upcoming. Kinda have to, now that I have revived.
